It’s fun to learn English!

Thank you!

Dear families,

After six years of teaching English to children through arts and crafts in Getafe, I have decided not to continue the classes next school year.

When I started this project, teaching English was my only kind of work. But just as my students wanted to learn and create, so did I! I began to wonder. Could I ever write professional  teaching materials? Would other teachers like to learn to teach the way I do?

Now I have opportunities to write, publish, and train teachers. I am learning and growing. I am very lucky!

I would like to say a big thank you to all the families who have trusted me with their children’s learning. It has been a pleasure to work with so many wonderful children.

Parents, you should be very proud of your children. They can communicate in English, they can express themselves creatively, and they have a positive attitude towards learning the language.

These children have many artistic skills. They know how to make all kinds of crafts: villages from boxes, trees from pipe cleaners, characters from yarn. If they can imagine it, they can build it!

They also have a solid foundation in conversational English. They can tell you all about their creations in English. And when they want to make something new, they can get ideas and advice from English-language videos and blogs.

Most importantly, they see themselves as creative, confident learners. They know that they can use English to understand, communicate, and learn new things. I am very proud of them.

Thank you for being part of English with Imagination.

All the best,

Lauren Hamilton Sáez

I believe English is important.

Children need English to do well in school and prepare for the future. But that’s not all. English can give them a better life. Children who speak English can read more books, sing along to more songs and make more friends. They can understand more stories and tell their own.

I also believe it should be fun.

To learn English well, children need to use it often and have fun with the language. When they learn through games and stories, children pay attention better and remember more. And when they can be creative with English, they like it more because it lets them discover and share their ideas.

I want my students to love English!

I believe that a positive attitude about English will help them a lot in the future. Let me explain. When children love English, they will want to use English outside of school. They might try reading a book or playing a video game in English, just for fun. And children who choose to use English in their free time aren’t just getting extra practice. They’re learning how to learn. I can’t think of a more useful lesson!
